When Larry June came through to track The Smooth Kind, we ran it out of Studio A · Neumann U87, full mic booth, Yamaha HS10 stack on the monitor side. The track went on to be a centerpiece of the Larry catalog and helped earn the iTunes Top 100 plaque now framed on the lounge wall. Recording sessions like this are why Studio A was built the way it was: heavy isolation, suede-treated walls, gear that disappears so the artist can work.
